I am Anbrea McCoy, a mother, educator, foster parent, and community advocate running for Delegate to represent District 28, Maryland. My journey has always been guided by service — to children, families, and the community. I am not a career politician. I am someone who has lived the challenges many families face every day and is committed to creating real, lasting change.
As a mother of three, I understand the realities of balancing work, family, and the rising cost of living. These experiences shape how I see the world and strengthen my commitment to fighting for policies that truly support families. For over seven years, I have worked in education, serving students and families in underserved communities. I have seen firsthand how opportunity gaps impact children — and how access to strong education can change lives. As a licensed foster parent, I have also supported vulnerable youth during some of their most difficult moments. This work has deepened my commitment to ensuring every child has safety, stability, and opportunity.
I currently serve as an alternate member on the Charles County Board of Ethics and Commissions, where I help support transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership in local government. This role reflects my belief that public service must always be guided by integrity and trust.
I am running for Delegate because I believe District 28, Maryland deserves leadership that listens, understands, and delivers results. My priorities are simple:
This campaign is about people — not politics.
If elected, I will bring a voice to the State House that reflects the real experiences of our community. I will fight for solutions that are practical, fair, and focused on improving everyday life for families across District 28.
In addition to her work in education, foster care, and community advocacy, Anbrea McCoy is also an author. Her book reflects her values, experiences, and commitment to uplifting families and inspiring positive change.
